THROUGH THEIR EYES

Reflections on a Century of Delivering Healthcare in our Community

To celebrate 100 years of Doylestown Hospital, over 80 guests joined us for an evening of storytelling featuring hospital and Village Improvement Association (VIA) leaders and community members. Moderator Sheri Putnam and panelists Cookie Biggs, Marianne Chabot, Rich Reif and Jim Brexler offered entertaining reflections and “behind the scenes” memories of the people and events who have been a part of the hospital’s extraordinary history–from 1923 until now.
The extraordinary efforts of the women of the VIA to establish healthcare in Doylestown, and the “gumption” they possessed was noted with admiration often during the evening by panelists and the audience.
Among many highlights of the program was the ongoing dialogue between panelists and the audience. With warmth and appreciation, they recalled a truly unique story of the people whose efforts made Doylestown Hospital what it is today.
A question-and-answer session closed the program along with a surprise appearance by John Cope, the infant pictured on the cover of Through Their Eyes the book by Anne “Cookie” Biggs that chronicled the hospital’s first 75 years.
Doylestown Health wishes to thank the panelists for their support:
